.Dress Better Than Your Colleagues – Using common sense as your guide, you can never dress too well for the office in a business or business casual environment. As a reference point, you should dress as well as or better than your supervisor, if you want to be taken seriously. Even on casual days, don’t be too casual.

.Get Some Good Shoes – If you are on a tight budget, your best investment is in good leather shoes, three or more pairs, if possible. Keep them in good shape by buffing and shining them and replace as needed.Women should wear a medium heal at the office. Never wear high heels or open-toed shoes.

.Interviews – If you are interviewing prospective employees or going to an interview yourself, wear a tie and jacket, or for a woman, a dress or suit with your best shoes.

.Accessorize – Accessories can give you that flair and pizzazz you want to convey, but if overdone, can make you look foolish or brash. Stay with the classics like pearls or a single gold chain. Don’t go to work looking like a portable “bling-fest”.

.Make Up – A little bit goes a long way with daytime makeup and hairstyles. Go for a simple, easy-to-do look and your life will be much less complicated in the morning. Also, there is no need for men or women to wear cologne or perfume at the office.

.General Advice – Never wear jeans, sweat clothes or sneakers to work even on casual days. Adding a jacket or blazer to any outfit brings it up a notch. Shop at discount stores for better brands at reasonable prices
